“No Real than You Are”

That’s what it says on the green fiberglass “T-Shirt” of the Giant 8 foot tall Lego Man known as “Ego Leonard” that washed up on shore on Siesta Key beach in Florida.

This has happened before on other shores as it turns out.

And, as it turns out “Ego Leonard” is the “alter Ego” of a certain Dutch Artist, who is no doubt getting a lot of traffic to his websites where he sells his paintings, books, and other art. (see it here Lego Man )

Genius really, at least in a marketing sense!

Think about it. It probably cost this artist a few hundred or a thousands dollars to build a fiberglass Lego man. Then he dumps them a few miles offshore from a rented boat and lets them float in. (or perhaps he just sets them on the shore to look like they washed up, saving even more money). The “cryptic” message adds a new internet “meme” to the mix – which of course pushes his site high up in the SERPS as well.

I cannot say it enough, but this is a brilliant marketing strategy!

So, what could you do to push your product, service, or other salable idea? Is there a “Giant Lego-Man” in your marketing strategy, or are you going to blend in with the background noise?

Your Work, Your Wallet, and Your Life.

It is a sad truth today that the economic situation looks bleak – but then, opportunity seldom comes dressed up with neon signs pointing it out. Opportunity usually comes to you in the guise of bleak outlooks, and unsolvable problems.

So if that is the case, there must be a whole lot of opportunity out there right now. The fact is, there are many out of work while store fronts line empty streets with “out of business” signs yellowing in the dirty windows. Bloated, overfed governments are suddenly going bankrupt while taxes go out of control, money becomes worthless, and everyday items get harder to find.

Sounds depressing, but the fact is many savvy (and rich) people have made their fortunes in the rebuilding phase that occurs during and after bad economic situations such as we find ourselves in today.
Each problem we see contains within itself the seed of its solution. Problem solvers are the ones who get rich, who move ahead. Are you a problem solver? Are you looking to just solve the immediate problems of your own monetary issues – looking for a shoestring business you can start on your own or a means by which you can begin crawling out of a financial hole and into the sunlight?

Affiliate Marketing is a great way to do this – you can actually start with nothing (and many have). You don’t even need a website as there are so many free platforms upon which you can launch your business (Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, WordPress.org just to name a few).

The fact is there are literally millions of products and services that can solve problems that you can sell and get a commission for. That is what Affiliate Marketing is all about – getting in a relationship with someone who is looking for a solution, and providing that solution to them. You could be the creator of that solution, but you don’t have to be – and that is the great thing about affiliate marketing. You can sell other peoples solutions to solve other peoples problems, and you make money!

And that could be your solution!

Advertising Continues to Suck.

I don’t watch much TV, but when I do from time to time, I always like to watch what the advertisers are doing. One of the interesting things I’ve noticed is how ineffective so many ads are – in fact, how some make no sense at all.

Large companies with massive advertising budgets can afford (I guess) to waste most of that budget trying to build “brand awareness”. This is the time honored, money wasting tradition of simply putting the brand out there without really much focus, if any, on the benefits, quality, or purpose of their products and services. Their point is, through repetition, to bring top of mind awareness of their brand in the public at large.

Are You Running a Business Here?

I have to wonder sometimes when I look at some of the things I can dig up while looking at the data Affiliate Sledgehammer’s Ultra Miner Technology (Copyrighted) finds and posts to this site. For example – Well known Super Affiliate Ewen Chia has several very good programs on ClickBank, but apparently he has lost site of a few of his systems. Here is a link to the data page in the Campaign section (if you are a member just sign in first, if not, sign up it’s free! orange button on right) : Ewen Chia’s Article Secrets. Here is my issue with this program – it says on the web page “coming soon”, but the data does not lie… This site has been active on ClickBank since March of 2010!
